Aduana Mexico’s (customs) commitment is to offer you a respectful and efficient service. It’s the organization that supervises and controls all the merchandise that gets in and out of Mexican territory. As passenger you are aloud to bring duty in free:

The items allowed in your personal luggage, according to the length of the trip are:

  • Up to $300 US dollars per person in permitted goods or its equivalent in other currencies. Passengers traveling with family members (spouse and children) may combine their personal exemptions only when arriving together. In order to claim this additional exemption, passengers must have the corresponding commercial invoices or receipts available.
  • Beer, alcoholic beverages and manufactured tobacco may not be included in this additional exemption.

Immigration

Some countries and regions in the world require a visa to visit Mexico. Citizens from the United States, Canada and the European Union do not need a visa to enter this country as a tourist, trans-migrants and business agents.

Citizens from the countries of El Salvador, Jamaica and Malaysia do not need a visa, but they need to request a consular stamp on the passport to enter Mexico. This stamp can be requested at any of the 130 consulates of Mexico in the world.

The rest of the countries need a visa to travel to Mexico. The visa can be requested in any of the 130 consulates of Mexico in the world.

The tourist and business agent stay can be no longer than 180 days; trans-migrants would be allowed to stay in Mexico for a maximum of 30 days only. For more information of your country requirements visit:

Currency in Mazatlán, such as in the rest of Mexico is the Mexican peso. Along the city you can find several Money Exchange establishments that exchange American and Canadian dollars and the euro into pesos.
