Foreign Visitors

Some countries and regions in the world require a visa to visit Mexico. Citizens from the United States, Canada and the European Union do not need a visa to enter this country as a tourist, trans-migrants and business agents.

Citizens from the countries of El Salvador, Jamaica and Malaysia do not need a visa, but they need to request a consular stamp on the passport to enter Mexico. This stamp can be requested at any of the 130 consulates of Mexico in the world.

The rest of the countries need a visa to travel to Mexico. The visa can be requested in any of the 130 consulates of Mexico in the world.

The tourist and business agent stay can be no longer than 180 days; trans-migrants would be allowed to stay in Mexico for a maximum of 30 days only. For more information of your country requirements visit:

Currency in Mazatlán, such as in the rest of Mexico is the Mexican peso. Along the city you can find several Money Exchange establishments that exchange American and Canadian dollars and the euro into pesos.
